Rogue Raffler #2 Aug 26, 2010 View URL

Image

Mark your calendar for Thursday, August 26, 6:55pm.

If you thought the first Rogue Raffler was a hit, wait til you experience the second! The Rogue Raffler, Austin's newest social running event, is an after-work urban race that will reveal hidden Austin gems, give you a chance to use strategy rather than speed and will finish with free beer, free food and tons of (seriously good) prizes!

So what happens at the Raffler?

6:55pm: Locations are revealed. You have 3 minutes to take notes and devise a plan of attack.

7:00pm: The run begins! Contestants head out on foot to the checkpoints, where raffle tickets are distributed. You have exactly one hour to collect as many tickets as possible and make it back to Rogue - make sure your strategy is sound!

8:00pm: The ticket jar is sealed and the raffle begins. Winners receive great prizes from both the sponsoring local businesses and from Rogue Equipment.

After that: The block party commences! Think free food, FREE BEER and the coolest crowd in town.

Check out video footage from the first Raffler , and also take a look at what's happening in Portland - this is the most fun you'll have on a Thursday evening, so bring your friends, bring your kids and bring your strategic skills!

This event is free and open to the public, but please rsvp here to help ensure enough beverages to go around!

The 2010 Sweet & Twisted Tri – Central Texas’ premier women’s-only triathlon - will be held at the beautiful Pace Bend Park, conveniently located just minutes outside of Austin, in Spicewood, TX. Thanks to the considerable rain the Hill Country has received over the past month – lake levels are at a 3 year high and near full capacity. The 500 meter SWIM is held in Mudd Cove , with plenty of open water certified lifeguards on-hand for oversight & safety from the wonderful team at The Expedition School. Where there are hills – there are great downhills too! The short 5K RUN is contained completely within the Park – on a combination of paved roads and improved trail roads. The portion of ‘improved trail’ roads…think Lady Bird Lake Trail! Athletes finish into the large, shaded venue area, where everyone will receive free massage from Advanced Rehab, soft serve ice cream from Kool Kones, luscious cupcakes, sandwiches, fresh fruit and Sweet & Twisted Tris signature mimosa! Each athlete will also receive an ice cold finishers towels courtesy of Hill Country Running Company and water bottle from Pure Austin Fitness at the finish line.
