About Me:

I was born in Falls Church, Fairfax VA.  I pretty much grew up in Charlottesville, VA and entered the Air Force after High School.  I have always played soccer through my life and wrestled in High School.  My running has always been there, but I never knew to what level.  When I was 12 or 13 I ran the March of Dimes (a charity run through Dominion Power).  The course was ten miles through Charlottesville and I took off with the runners.  I ended up finishing in 4th place and surprised everybody including myself.  Getting caught up in all the temptations of the world I really became sidetracked and pulled away from my passion for running and working out.

I did not go to college and run and did not run in high school, but in 2000 I discovered the amazing running community here in Charlottesvile.  I was still smoking cigs and partying like a rockstar, but even with all that crap in my system I still was pretty competative.  So after running 5ks, 10ks and 10 milers for 2 1/2 years I decided to run the Richmond Marathon in Nov 2003.  I built my mileage up to 21 and ran my first and best Marathon of 3 hours 2 minutes and 54 seconds (qualified for Boston). I started running ultras 3 weeks later in Richmond with the Swinging Bridge 50k and I placed 3rd overall.  I was suddenly in a new world of running and became obsessed.

I did not stop partying or smoking until February 2008, but it is the best thing I have ever done. It has given me my life back which has been in limbo for too many years.  Running is my drug of choice and with the support of my family and future wife, Jodi, the sky is the limit until it's time to climb to the heavens.
