About Me:

High school track and college lacrosse were followed by a decade of inactivity.  I was a regular at weekend happy hours and flirted with the idea of becoming a smoker.

2004 my son was born and it was time to get it together.  I started jogging.  Mid 2006 I started trying to be a gym rat and was lifting weights.  By 2007 I was bored and wanted to sign up for a 10k or something so I would have a goal to train for.  I started looking at multi-sport activities and was specifically looking at Triathlons when I found Houston Adventure Racing Team online and joined the club and within 6 months was racing as a way of life.

I run because I love the freedom.  I ride because I like the adrenaline.  I should be the last kid picked if you need help paddling or navigating.

Motivation:

My family.  I want to give my kids the gift of a healthy lifestyle.  I also like being able to bring them to the events to get them outside and away from the house.

Goals:

Work hard and play hard.  I want to lead a team on a 24 hr race someday.  I'd like to do the Baja Traviesa and the Costa Rica Coast to Coast.

Sponsors:

My wife...

Defining Moments:

Paddling for 12 hours in August 2007 led me to believe that if I could do that, I could do anything.  At that point I decided to run a marathon in costume.  I completed the Chevron Houston Marathon in 4hrs and 22 min wearing a Mariachi hat and smiling the whole way!  Janet Raschke said to me, "Go big or go home."  She should know!

A marathon is just another Sunday morning run.
