About Me:
The summer of 2005 I finally got board sitting behind a computer all day and decided to have some goals and get back in shape. I entered in a sprint triathlon 8 weeks later and had a great time training and then crossing the finish line. A friend talked me into running the McNaughton 30 in 2006 and I decided to give it a whirl. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. Before McNaughton, I had ran a 5k, 10k, and a sprint tri and really had no idea how to train. I showed up overtrained and injured, but plugged through and finished. I was pretty sure after that I would never run an event like that again. The rest of 2006 I concentrated on training for the Chicago Triathlon (International Distance). I competed and faired well at the Chicago tri and then took some time off to decide what was next. It occured to me that I just liked running more. I travel a lot and I can't always find a pool or lug my bike on the plane, but shoes and shorts can go anywhere. Next thing I knew I was signed up the Psych Wyco 50k (KC) in Feb of 2007 and had such a great time that I decided that I was going to concentrate on ultra events for a while and now here I am.
