About Me: I grew up in LI NY and went to college in Vermont. Once in VT i never had the urge to return to NY. I moved to Boston in 1990 and settled in. Lived with the girl of my dreams and things were looking up. We were going to get married. I was just waiting to save up enough cash to buy a decent ring. Then it happened. Andrea was diagnosed with cancer. 10 mos later, she died. Thats when my life changed.

I've learned that when faced with adversity one has two choices, hide and do nothing or confront it and move forward. I decided to move forward and although I didn't even own a bike, my cousin and I decided to ride cross country to raise money in Andrea's honor for the American Cancer Society. In July 1995 3 riders and a support vehicle traveled from Oregon to Boston. We averaged 118 miles a day , raised $100k and arrived in Boston in 28 days.
Life is all about experiences and the people you meet along the way. I am blessed to have had Andrea in my life. I consider myself lucky because the person I am now incorporates the person she was. She taught me alot both in life and in death. I thank her everyday for my wife and my family for without her, I would have neither. You see, while i was training to ride cross country, i met a woman who ran the gym that i would go to every day to ride the stationary bike. My routine was the same everyday. Go to the gym, ride the bike and go home. I rarely spoke with anyone at the gym and most the employees thought i was an ass. My wife included!

Well wouldn't you know that Andrea had my back the entire way. When we arrived in Boston, the first person i spoke with was Tricia, the woman at the gym, mother of my children and love of my life. Now who would ever think that having your life torn apart by death could be a good thing? I am the luckiest man alive. I have two beautiful children ( Brienna and Jack) and a best friend for a wife.
